Jesus, our Savior and Lord

It's all about this one person: Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
He desired to be with us so much that He gave up His honored place in heaven. He humbled Himself and was born a man. He came with the one charge: To change our destiny. To save us. To take us to where He is. That's why He went to the cross. You might say that He did so joyfully, because of the joy that would come from it: You! Being together with you! Nothing stopped Him from loving you. Nothing that you ever did or ever would do will subtract from His love. There is nothing we can do that would make Him love us more either. His love for you is perfect, constant and everlasting. It's His gift for you! That's where He demonstrated His unconditional love for all people, as He was dying, the righteous for the unrighteous. He suffered and died to take away our sin, all the bad stuff in one's life, that separates us from the holy and perfect God. Three days later He rose again from the dead to life. This is the life He gives to everyone who follows Him.

We who follow Him call Him Savior and Lord. He is the One and Only who rescued us from our sin and an eternity separated from God, the source of life. And we call Him Lord, because He is the King of kings whom we gladly submit our lives. To Him belongs all we are and have, and all we have is given to us as to stewards. We want our lives to count for God. His mission is our mission and what is important to Him is equally important to us. The one word that describes our relationship with Jesus best is love. In 1 John 4:19 we read: We love because he first loved us. Jesus loved us, even while we were still sinners. And so, we love Jesus in return. This is our response and the only true response to His love: Our love for Him.

We are saved by Jesus Christ once and for all. What He has done on the cross and on Easter morning He has done once for all people of all people of all times. Because of that, when God looks at us, He doesn't see our sin. Instead, He sees His Son Jesus in His perfect sinless life. We are declared saved, sinless and perfect in God's sight - in just a moment, just by believing in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

We are walking with the Lord now. He takes us on a journey that takes your whole life time. Heaven will be the certain destination. He invites all who accept His salvation to follow Him, to learn from Him, and to deepen the relationship with Him more and more. It's our chance to grow in our faith and in love for Him, the no-greater-love, the lover of your soul, our Savior and Lord. That's what we call discipleship. We grow and mature in knowledge, understanding, commitment, love. We adopt a worldview and values that are in line with God's word. We also adopt a lifestyle that reflects Jesus' life and love, His compassion and commitment. Jesus is the master. We are His apprentices, following His lead.
